I looked at two wonderful and interesting comics this week that moved me in many ways.
Evil Inc. moved my funny bone. It’s like the Sinister Six teamed up with Doc Oct to make a supervillain supply store. It’s a sitcom comic that takes up a partial reboot of the old adult-focused webcomic. To some degree the comics maintain that adult sexyness so don’t give this to kids. Unless you wanna be asked questions about “thwart”.
Horsemen is much more serious, and moved me in more profound ways. The characters there are somewhere between personified entities and minor gods. There is a hodgepodge of world mythology mashed into the story which makes it a little hard to follow, but I got the guidebook as part of the pack so I got back on track. It’s a somewhat intense story that lacks a lot of the humor and sexy silliness of the Evil Inc series. It’s interesting reading a hero team comic in which the characters didn’t have their own comics before teaming up. A bit like the X-men in that regard, but whether the characters could hold their own series up, I couldn’t tell you.
Both series were fun reads and while Evil Inc is definitely more of a fave, I’m still quite happy I got additional issues of Horsemen. I wish I rememebered where I got them from or who told me about them. Ah well.
Next week, vacation is over! I’ve got a lot of dubbing to do and so I’ll take time away from my usual storytelling to deal with it. But don’t worry, Colony fans! I have a big queue of chapters in that story keyed up so there won’t be any more delays with that one; provided I remember to click the upload button.
