And so, we return to the Land (because the promotional emails continue to hound me) where we follow the strange journey of Ricther, the human sucked into a video game world that turns out to be all too real. We learn that Richter's ressurection ability can be seen by others, but isn't well known throughout the Land. Hence the shock by the assassins when he comes back to slay them and free companion Terrod.
The Land continues to impress me. Despite the lower score this time, compared to the first and second book, I still think it's the best series I've read and the best story our club has produced. Hence why I ranked it #1 on my Top 10 list a few days ago when conversing with Mr. Hayashi the GSFR host. I don't believe he ever read the stories, but I know he's interviewed him before.
Let his writing inspire you. Let it give you a goal to reach for. Let it be your standard bearer. Let yourself be forewarned: If you like Rick & Morty, I will bust your chops for it.
Anyway, later today, I'll post a link to my interview on the radio. It was a 2 hour extravaganza and yet I feel like we didn't cover enough stuff well. Of course, this is due to my tendency to drift onto unrelated side topics or make complaints about my students. Maybe another time. We'll do this again when I get to 100 episodes. That's a year away, tho! It's only a year away. I'll include the top 10 list there as well.
