This is one of the better short films I've seen this year. Of course, it came out last year. I finally found time to watch it back in May. I can't stress the importance of finding time to do the things you like, because they might be gone tomorrow.
Runaways focuses on the plight of artificial humans that have achieved some measure of free will and want to live their own lives. An underground railroad of artificial humans has formed and the main character is in charge of pursuing and capturing/terminating rogue robots. Whle he doesn't think they're evil, it's his job to hunt them down, but he learns they are not the menace his partner nor the media make them out to be.
I found the movie quite fascinating from multiple aspects. The special effects were quite good as well for a budget prodution. Thank you, software trickle-down effect!
In the meantime, I'e been reading the Darkside Trilogy. I've got some dead time coming up, so I might pause that project and work on a few other small projects during that dead time. But we'll see. I still have some NBA credits to spend.
